Internal Medicine Physician Rafael Gutierrez, M.D. Joins Holy Cross Medical Group
Rafael Gutierrez, M.D. has joined Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 130 physicians providing services throughout Broward County. As an internal medicine physician, he focuses on adult medicine, annual wellness visits, primary prevention, pre-operative evaluation and chronic disease management.
Dr. Gutierrez recently completed the Holy Cross Health and University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program and was elected as a class representative for the Graduate Medical Education Committee in 2022. He has served as a volunteer providing medical care to underserved populations at Light of the World Clinic in Oakland Park, Florida and with Medical Volunteers of UC, a student organization run through the University of Cincinnati. He also served as a medical assistant at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Gutierrez earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Cincinnati, where he graduated from the Geriatric Medicine Student Scholars Program and was the Latino Medical Association Club leader. He’s given presentations on chronic kidney disease, as well as diabetes and nutrition education in the Latino community. At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology, graduating with honors, and associate of arts degree in biology, graduating with high honors from the Honors College Program.
