ABOUT OUR SIGNATURE EVENTS
The Chamber hosts scores of networking events each year, but only a handful of large-scale annual events that draw hundreds of attendees. Our Signature Events range from breakfasts honoring power players within the community to galas at South Florida resorts. Each brings together some of the most prominent names in the Greater Fort Lauderdale business arena in an environment only the Chamber can provide.
The Board of Directors Orientation is a key event designed to introduce new board members to their roles and responsibilities while aligning them with the organization's vision and goals. This exclusive session provides an opportunity for leadership training, strategic discussions, and fostering collaboration. The Annual meeting draws more than 400 people each year. This is the ceremonial "passing of the baton" to the incoming chair and Board of Directors. The Downtown Council presents the Downtowner of the Year Award to a prominent member of the Downtown Fort Lauderdale business community who has shown outstanding leadership and direction. The honoree represents the goals for a vibrant downtown economy, and has included leaders such as Wayne Huizenga, Bob Van Fleet and, most recently, Doug McCraw.
